New Technology Implants with Cataract Surgery
New technology in cataract surgery allows patients more freedom from glasses after their procedure.
Astigmatism is type of refractive error or “glasses prescription.” It is usually caused by the shape of the cornea - the clear window in the front of the eye. New toric intraocular lens implants can correct astigmatism without the need for glasses after surgery to improve distance vision.
Extended Depth of Focus lens implants aid in intermediate and near vision, giving patients freedom from glasses with activities like computer use, cell phone, cooking, and reading normal-sized print. Extended Depth of Focus lenses can also be used to correct astigmatism.
